The Revel Rose

My very first couples as a wedding planner will always hold a special place in my heart and memory!

Kelly and Rory contacted me a few months after launching The Revel Rose, and were in the middle of planning their Northern Michigan winery wedding for August 2019. Unfortunately, they ended up needing to switch venues and the Chicago based couple opted to have their wedding in Southwest Michigan, close to where Rory's family had a vacation home in South Haven along the Lake Michigan coast.

We reconnected a few months after I initially heard from them, and I was so excited because we had hit it off right away when we first talked. They asked if I would be willing to travel to South Haven for their wedding, and I said absolutely!

Kelly and Rory are travelers who got engaged in Italy (and helped me plan my Italian honeymoon), are super carefree and fun, and love spending time with their family and friends. They enlisted me to not only help with planning their wedding at 12 Corners Vineyard in Benton Harbor, but also provide paper goods including an invitation suite and fully design their wedding day.

We had so much fun going this process together, as Kelly was a champion of a super clean + minimal and modern style. AKA, she wasn't overly concerned with excessive decor and went pretty minimal on floral as well. This allowed us to focus on getting really quality rentals from a few of my favorite partners in Grand Rapids and Detroit, and we crafted their large, airy tent to be bright and open with plenty of room for mingling and partying.

Kelly, Rory, and their sweet families were such a pleasure to work with and I was especially thankful their wedding gave me the opportunity to work with photographer Amanda VanVels, an incredibly fun and talented gal who travels all over the U.S. documenting love and good times!
